About Jon

Jonathan Bresman is a veteran of Hasbro, MAD Magazine, and Lucasfilm.

A writer and creative consultant, Jon specializes in finding uncharted territories in the pop culture landscape, creating and developing intellectual properties, shepherding franchises, and supplying brand vision and management. 

Jon was Managing Editor of Brand Design and IP Development at Hasbro, where he worked on projects ranging from Transformers to Marvel Super Heroes to Sesame Street. 

As Senior Editor at MAD Magazine, Jon recruited scores of cartoonists to push the magazine in new directions, was key to the launch of MAD Kids magazine, and wrote the book MAD About Star Wars. 

During his time as Conceptual Researcher for Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, Jon created concept reels for George Lucas as part of the prequel expansion of the Star Wars universe. Later, Jon was on Lucasfilm's public relations, documentary, and web site teams, and wrote The Art of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. 

Jon was also the Creative Director of Vis-a-vis/Kerplink, where he led a team that won two World Animation Celebration awards. 

As an undergrad at Harvard, Jon studied monkeys, politics, and creative writing. He’s an alum of AFI’s Television Writers Workshop, and has two graduate degrees from Columbia, focused on multimedia learning and educational entertainment.
